Rifle and the OR

Dang Dang.
That shit is whack!

LOL. Just something we started saying on a drunken nights orgy of the sences. Exuberant is it not? To have oneself totally open and available. The freedom we have cannot be bought. It can be rented, but cannot be altered.

Here are some pics from the past few weeks. Wake boarding in quebec ( my first time, my elbow still hurts ) and supper with friends on the lake.

For those of you who don't know me, its rare to see me in shorts, so mark the date. Oh and BTW, the 101 is the reading on my truck widget midday in Nebraska. Damn.

I got really pissed off one day, in traffic, and got the camera out. Not sure if it's appropriate. I will let you judge.

Gitta and I are in Rifle. Projects include, having fun and falling a lot. New ropes from MAxim came in yesturday. Thank you soooooooo much. They will be helpful in our search for AIR!

Only a few more days until the OR starts. I will be heading there to support and sell. See my friends and maybe get into another fight. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

My little Niece. 5 days old. Uncle for a second time. Proud bro!

Quarterly Report

Yes, even sometime even I have to work. I thought I would show you what an athlete report looks like. Every three months, submitted to your various sponsors, is like your own little soapbox.

Its really hard to remember evetrthing you did for a company, especially when you are used to living in the now, and not the past.

Here it is. This is it.

La Sportiva

2012 AMBASSADOR QUARTERLY REPORT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. GENERAL 3-MONTH OVERVIEW (~250 words):

My contract with LS commenced in January 2012, so lets start there. There is so much to list, where do I begin. I finally wraped up a three year send in El Salto, Mexico. Dante's Inferno "Directe" was a long standing open project. Alex Honnold did the FA of the route, by-passing a crux, in 2010. I always wanted to do the pure straight line, and I finally did it in late February 2012. Alex called his FA 13d/14a so its safe to assume that the Direct version I did is 14a/b. It has of yet, seen no repeats. The route has spit off every climber so far, be it Alex's version or mine. The route was bolted by Martinez in 2007. I wanted this route so bad. It took 4 years and maybe 60 redpoint attempts. I arrived in Mexico in Nov 2011 for the season. I spent the first 2 months bolting like crazy. I arrived in Mexico with 800 bolts and hangers. I ran out. 2012 was, by far, THE best climbing year of my career. I bolted 26 new routes over the course of the past 7 months. 22 in mexico, and 4 new ones in my region of Montreal. I do not bolt only hard routes, but relish in bolting moderates. most of the routes are in the mid 12 range. I put up 2 new 5.14a / 5.14a/b FA's among those. I still have 4 projects ( 13+ R w/gear to 14c ) in the montreal area that are waiting good weather in the Fall. They are going down. I am spending the summer in rifle to train for those projects and another project that I am keeping secret until it is r

revealed.( hihihihi )

I also signed Maxim Ropes, So ill and FIXE gear to the roster. This is going to help immensely in getting things done. Fixe and I are talking about canadian distribution for the Fall.

2. HOW DID YOU HELP PROMOTE LA SPORTIVA THIS QUARTER? (List up to 6)

I did over 23 demos in March of 2012 with LS shoes for Jim Sanford all over the east coast in Montreal ( 4 ), ottawa ( 3 ), Toronto ( 7 ), Quebec City ( 3 ), Sherbrooke, Kingston, Peterborough, London ect.

I am planning another series as soon as the Futura is available for demo. I passed along a couple good leads for sales to Jim as well.

4. NON-CLIMBING HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS QUARTER:

I spent most of my March demo day in Guelph climbing with the Jr team. great Kids. so physched. I wish I was 14 again LOL. I gave them all a Pusher chalkbag.

I spent a lot of time working this spring and got a new rig. Its now camperized and ready for the road. I will be taking it to Rifle in 2 weeks.

I changed a old couples alternator on the I 84 a few weeks back coming back from the adirondaks.

5. EVENTS YOU PLAN TO ATTEND NEXT QUARTER:

Trade show in SLC next month.

I am putting together the clinics for MEC for Maxim next fall, and I always wear my LS cap, peeps are sooooooooooo jealous LOL.

I will also be doing another round of demos for my rep schedule for the FALL so LS will be tagged on, as usual.

6. PLANS/GOALS FOR THE REST OF 2012:

Bolt in the new areas found recently in mexico, start building my winter house in mexico, finish off my projects in Montreal in the Fall, and try to find a suitable companion to reproduce.

7. PLEASE SUBMIT AT LEAST 1 PRO QUALITY PHOTO THAT CAPTURES YOUR YEAR SO FAR

Here are a few pics from the phone. My new rig getting its camperized effects, and some stupid shit along the way. Damn. I have been working a lot and life has taken a little to much space. It will be good to get back to climbing and doing nothing, soon...

PS. the first three shots are of some kid at the gym who was climbing with completely torn shoes, I just had to give him a pair of mine. Thats LS for ya, always there to support. Fuck I love my life. anyways, have all a good night. Like Tyra Banks said," the most important piece in you makeup bag, is a good nights rest."

I really don't feel like saying anything. I will let the song speak for itself.

Every little bit counts.

About 8 or 9 months ago, I was trotting away online during a day off in Rifle, when I cam across this organization who's soul purpose was to save and/or extend the lives of stray dogs in the great North of Quebec. I tagged it on FB, "Liked" it and moved on. A few months ago, I got a generic email asking for cash donations. Since I do not have any of that presious resource, I decided to turn help in another way. I offered to give them spools of rope. I figured, if they are trapping dogs in the wild, might as well use the best gear around, no?

I called Maxim Ropes and asked them to ship out 4 spools of Static 8mm ASAP. I also figured they would need something to cut the rope with, so we shipped a rope cutter and some spare blades as well.

Yesterday, I got this in my inbox.

I am not usually one to gloat about what I do, or who I help, but I thought this was a good way to show you what we really do behind the scenes everyday.

Enjoy.

PS. I am adopting my own dog in a couple days. If you want to join the cause, hit me up and I will guide you or go to Chiots Nordiques.

Thank you

to me

We recently asked for your help regarding our first vaccination and
sterilization clinic for the dogs living in the Innu communities of Mingan
and Natashquan.

This clinic was held from 3rd to 8 May 2012 and was a great success.
Indeed, nearly 150 dogs were sterilized and / or vaccinated
(more than 130 surgeries). Your help has enabled us to meet the basic
needs of these communities.

We received help from financial partners and also many volunteers who
have allowed this clinic to be a success for Chiots Nordiques and the
communities that were visited. We believe that it’s important to show
you in pictures the success of such an operation that took months to
prepare.

We hope you will join our partners for the next clinic which is fast
approaching! Your help will always be very important.

Sincerely,

Éric Coïa

The way of the Samurai

Tranquil is life at this hour. The sun barley makes its way into the horizon, and nothing chirping seems to make a beautiful morning a little blaek. Although, I know, its only for a couple more minutes.

The smell of diesel is intoxicating. Its like opening a fresh can of soda. The carbonation acts and it reduces any thought of environmental waste to scrubs. The black smoke fires away and leaves its mark for everyone.

And this is why, I am dedicating this video, to my buddy Mike. Who, very soon, will come upon his one year year anniversary of his passing. May 22 I believe. This one is for you...

RIP MIKE

I thought about this everytime I changed into my LS or Pusher or Maxim clothes the past few weeks. tooooooooooooooo funny.

Demos roll to an end.

Listen to this and enjoy the pictures. Demo season is wrapping up today. I am sitting in the Rock and Ropes gym in Peterborough, waiting for the sun to set at high noon and the start of the demo.

Toronto

Another night has drawn itself to an end. Its closing time for most payable customers, renters and payers of the fair trade. My night can last a little longer, my morning is simple tomorrow...SLEEP!

Here is a nice track for those of you who wish to cuddle a little closer, feel a little more and trance away into oblivion and in concert with the ones who care.

Cheers all and a good night to you and the many who sleep safe, and to those who cannot, may He have no mercy on those who prey on you tonight.

Gone in 30 seconds...

I'm sitting in my car waiting for the time to enter the mtl MEC, sewing my LS shirt cause it ripped last night while I was bouldering. I'm sewing and I'm thinking that one day I will tell my son that Home Ec aint that stupid after all. And those skills we squire as you g boys, like hammering a nail, fixing doors and being handy with our hands, are traits that women look for and that he should learn em, for his partner is not the 8th grader with blond hair and the cool jeans, his wife is out there far away lost likely. And he should learn all he can, because a
When he does meet her, he will only have one chance, that first 30 seconds to make his impression. And ten I thought, it's all about the 30 seconds. Honk about it. 30 seconds to early and your stick in traffic, 30 seconds to long and you fall off the anchors, 30 seconds I total and you might not get to sleep with her again LOL.

But it rely is all about the 30 seconds. Think about it.

That's my piece this morning. Have a great day all.
